This Wrinkle and Crease in Crease and Wrinkle (2012)
Kinetic Installation / Acrylic, Strobe Light, Motor, Electronic Components
This Wrinkle and Crease in Crease and Wrinkle is a kinetic installation consisting of a zoetrope-like spinning mechanism that displays three-dimensional objects instead of two-dimensional pictures. With the aid of a strobe light, this technique gives inanimate objects life, much like a stop motion animation, but in real-time. This project is inspired by early cinematic devices, and optical toys of the 19th century, which create the illusion of movement using persistence of vision.
